Product Overview

Man I love Jiu-Jitsu, don’t get me wrong I’m no high level black belt right now, but I am a high level blue belt and I can hold my own against Purple and lower level Brown belts, occasionally even catching them in a submission – so today at the MMA Gateway we are reviewing Jiu-Jitsu Belts, specifically the Fuji BJJ Belt.

Fuji_BJJ_Belt_Jiu-Jitsu_Belts_UFC MMA Submission ReviewFrom the day Royce Gracie stepped into MMA back in the first UFC event – it has become clear through the years that Jiu-Jitsu is easily one of the most effective and important martial arts to utilise in a real fight – still to this day in the fight game, a fighter who is a Jiu-Jitsu specialist will usually have an advantage over an opponent who is not a Jiu-Jitsu specialist.

Now some reviews take a long time to breakdown but this one will be short, because when it comes to any martial arts Belts, there is only a few things that matter – top quality materials which make the belt last longer, durability so it can be used virtually for a lifetime, can be used in high level tournaments and a diverse colour system.

This Fuji Jiu-Jitsu Belt has all of these points combined to make one of the best martial arts belts around.

Best parts of these Belts

  1. Only the best materials – so as I mentioned at the top, the material that a Jiu-Jitsu belt is made of will make all the difference when your rolling on the mats in training or in a high level competition. Because when anything is made with the best materials, you know that your getting true quality and that’s what you get here – because this Fuji Jiu-Jitsu Belt is made of 100% high quality Cotton, which has been known to be one of the best clothing materials to use for hundreds if not thousands of years.Fuji_BJJ_Belt_Jiu-Jitsu_Belts UFC MMA Submission Review
  2. Built to last – So because it is made from high quality cotton, it means that the belt is comfortable, will not rip, the stitching is the Fuji premium weave so it will not start fraying and ultimately the belt will last you for years possibly even a lifetime if you look after it because it is so durable! This means that you can purchase this item with the faith of knowing that it has the stamp and approval of everyone at the MMAGateway as being one of the most durable belts we have ever tried.
  3. Excellent diverse colour system/Tournament ready – Something I love about these Fuji Belts is that they have all of the belt grading for Jiu-Jitsu from White to Black, which can be used in high level tournaments – but also Fuji has the belt colours for a different martial arts like Judo where Blue, Orange, Green and Yellow are utilised. So rest assured that if your into Jiu-Jitsu or Judo, then Fuji have everything you could need!

  • Excellent range of sizes, so it doesn’t matter how big or small you are, you will find the right size.
  • Very sturdy, but easily knotable and very comfy.
  • Specially designed for Jiu-Jitsu, but can still be used for Judo if you really needed.
  • Fantastic pricing! Such high quality for such a low price.

  • No lifetime warranty, its only a standard 30 days returns policy, which ok its fair enough but I would have liked even a year or two year warranty, even though its not likely that you will ever need to return it.
  • No Red belt? Ok sure most people never reach a 9th degree Red Belt in Jiu-Jitsu, but it still would have been nice to see one listed – I guess the demand was so low that Fuji couldn’t justify manufacturing them.

  1. The belt may seem like a minor thing to think about, but especially in BJJ the quality of your belt stands out. It may not be highly effective in your workout flow, but I always would like to use a quality belt no matter which genre of martial arts I’m practicing.

Gaining belts in Jiu-Jitsu is harder than many other conventional martial arts such as Karate and you would want your Jiu-Jitsu belt to last long because it will be sticking around with you for a LONG while. In this aspect Fuji is a great choice.

    • Exactly bro and very well put! Belt quality really is important and like you point out its not easy going up belt grades in Jiu-Jistu, so having a TOP CLASS one you can keep for a long time should be a primary objective here.

Also re you into No-Gi grappling? I love this rash guard!

      See you again soon!

  2. Durability is a huge thing for me when choosing my Jiu Jitsu belt. With all the rolling around I do, cheap belts will not last long. I would rather pay the money for a high quality belt than pay for several cheaper belts.

Just curious, are there any warranties associated with this belt?

    • Hey Francis yeah I hear you bro same here, I literally would never wear a cheaply made belt because I know it wouldn’t last long.

There is no warranty so to speak but it does have a standard 30 days return policy. Also if you love rolling then you should check out this awesome rash guard to go under your Gi.

      Thanks for dropping by!

  3. Overall I found your site construct is very nice and the layout very presented.

    • Cool Maxx! Glad you like the site and this article about Jiu-Jitsu belts – yeah definitely share with anyone who’s into Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts in general.

  4. This is such a great review my friend! Thank you for sharing your knowledge about this product. I have coworkers (teachers) that practice Jiu-Jitsu and they always invite me but my schedule sometimes is just too crazy. However, I would love to give it a try and eventually put my kids in Jiu-Jitsu classes. I didn’t know much about the colors and based on your article, these seem to be good ones. The cons that you listed weren’t that bad so I’m sure that your visitors will consider to purchase them 🙂

    • Hi Victor that’s great to hear that you have friends who do Jiu-Jitsu and try to encourage you to do the same!

Also good to hear that you found support in this article, because these Fuji BJJ belts are some of the nicest ones I’ve ever used.

Also have you seen this before? Great if you want to stay in shape for a low price!

      Have a good one!

  5. Thanks for sharing! I’m a martial arts dabbler…BUT my kids have been practicing judo each for 6 and 5 years respectively, and the youngest is 4 and has just started. He’s the alpha of the 3 and I think he’ll do even better than his older brother and sister. Are there any companies out there with the quality of Fuji that you would recommend for judo belts?

    Great post!

    • Hi Norman, great to hear you dabble in Martial arts and even better to hear that you have kids that are super passionate about Judo! There is a lot of similarities between Judo and Jiu-Jitsu and honestly Fuji do have all the Judo belts as well, which you can order through the links in this article.

Also how do you think they would feel about this Gi? I think they should start switching over to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

      Thanks for your feedback bro!

  6. OK now I just want to see a red one!  I’m actually surprised they don’t offer one…even if it’s very rare, you’d think they’d make one, it just might be at a higher price.

Thanks for the great review.  So many times people get caught up in receiving the advancement that they don’t take into account the quality of the award.  These belts will be with you for some time and, if you’re even slightly sentimental, possibly framed and mounted as you progress.  Make the small investment and get something that will last.

Material, stitching and reputation all play a role in actual and perceived value.  It looks like Fuji pays attention to detail.

    Thanks again for the review.

    • Hey Scott! Yeah I know what you mean man I would love to see a red one too! Maybe they will bring one out in the future, but Fuji really are a high class company within the world of Jiu-Jitsu and your right every belt grading in any martial art is something one should be proud of.

If you want to look at some more Fuji equipment, you should have a look at these awesome shorts!

      See you round boss!

  7. I have never tried Jiu-Jitsu but I have done some karate and taekwondo.  These belts would be excellent for any MMA that you want to do.  It is always best to go with the highest quality, in anything that is worth having and keeping for a very long time.    You mention that there is no red one, would you be able to order that one if you need it?

    • Hi Shy, well maybe one day you will try Jiu-Jitsu because it is probably one of the best Martial Arts a woman can learn. If you really wanted a red one I’m sure if you contacted the owner of Fuji then maybe they could work something out for you.

Also have you ever wondered how you move up the rankings in the UFC?

      Thanks for your support!

  8. Not only that I found this blog post helpful, the video was super helpful because I never knew Fuji Sport was founded in 1969.

The belts are colorful and I like the logo. Blue and white my all time favorite colors.

I go for quality and not just some kind of inferior material.

    • Hey Funshel, glad you found this review helpful and that you learnt something new about Fuji that you didn’t know before – they really are an awesome company and I know what you mean white and blue are solid colours!

By the way have you done any Wrestling before? Get some shoes that will take your training to the next level!

      See you again bro!
